Hailing from Oviedo from the Asturias province of Spain, Jaime Santos Colado has come many paths forward in Indian Football within a short span of time.
Enrolling in the Sporting Gijon Youth Setup at the tender age of 7, he has been ever loyal to his boyhood club for 15 years. Rising across the age teams to the Reserve side of the main team after 12 years of wait, at the age of 19. Scoring 18 goals in 97 appearances for the Asturias side, Colado even made his way to the side's La Liga Squad in the 2016-17 season but was denied game time. He moved to CD Mirandes, the Los Rojillos or the Jabatos in 2018 before moving to India.
Joining the Red and Golds in the middle of the season, Santos Colado had a tonne load of pressure to handle after the Club suffered three back-to-back defeats after a good start and were languishing at the bottom half of the league. Colado, making his debut in the Derby against Mohun Bagan became an instant fan favourite.
Quick runs, twists and movements along with his ever-amusing smile took the East Bengal faithful by storm. Since then he has found the net on 5 occasions in the 14 games he has donned the East Bengal Skin.
Handling pressure in a Kolkata side is no easy job but boy did he handle it well. To more goals, assists and Sten Gun Celebrations!
